My friend wants to get into the pc scene and we usually go to a gaming cafe to play pc games. We saw that their builds are just optiplex computers with a good graphics card. He wants to go ahead and do the same. We're going for nice and cheap, he doesn't want to go overkill/ I saw an optiplex for a reasonably good price. It has a 2nd gen i7, I was wondering if it's good idea going through and buying this. How well has the i7 2600 aged? Any other OptiPlex models that are good as well?

the i7 2600 is still fine for gaming with a 1060 or 580, though you'll need a tower style optiplex to fit either. doesn't need to be an optiplex or even dell, any prebuilt with a normal Pci-e 16x slot and enough space will work fine.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

Yea, this is not the one with the slim case so we are good on that.
