I never did this myself, but isn't there a dedicated ark server available on steam? At least I see a Ark Survival Evolved dedicated server in my steam tool list.

If you find any grammar or spelling errors please fill out entry permit A38, thanks.

Greetings from germany

Don't you need to port forward that in order to work? The isp won't let me do that anymore.

That's highly possible. But that's nearly always the case if you host a server on your own pc. If your friend can't host the server you might try setting up a virtual lan. Tools like hamachi, tunngle or evolvehq might come in handy.

I haven't used one of these tools in years and I don't know how reliable they are nowadays.

Where do you live where your ISP won't let you port forward anymore?

Actually in most recent countries they HAVE to allow you the ability to control your own firewall and forward ports. Most major ISP that tried to enforce port blocking on either their equipment or on their network all got smacked with very large fines.
