Overclocking Failure X99 Chipset

sometimes when i choose to Overclock my Intel Core i7-6800k 3.40ghz processor i follow the proccess  and after i use my pc and shutdown it down when i next boot it up it says Overclocking Failure >:(

How are you shutting it down?

Usually when there is a power failure or sudden crash it will say that. So for example if you just hold the power button and don't let it gracefully shutdown that could be a cause.

Having issues when cold booting isn't surprise. X99 is quite odd in this regard. It might be down to the IMC/RAM from what I've read. http://www.overclock.net/forum/26506510-post6.html

 

A power cycle usually does the trick.
