Hi,

Recently I started planning my new case mod and loop and came up with a seriously unconvensional idea. Im planning to use an inner reservoir tube (https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-res-x3-internal-tube-12-16-200mm like this one) as a tunnel for a rgb strip. The plan is to use some kind of silicone or sth similar and seal one, end allowing a rgb strip to go through. Before you recommend sticking with a ready to go RGB solution you should know that im a big fan of corsair's RGB ecosystem and im handy at DIY;s and mods.

Anyway what do you think of an idea? If you have some sealant recommendations (that are possible to get in EU) lemme know.

Cheers

I mean, it'd work, but be a pain in the as for sure. i'd rather put one in from the bottom.

but I still am going to recommend the XSPC Photon series of pump/res units.

Main Rig: R9 5950X @ PBO, RTX 3090, 64 GB DDR4 3666, InWin 101, Full Hardline Watercooling

Server: R7 1700X @ 4.0 GHz, GTX 1080 Ti, 32GB DDR4 3000, Cooler Master NR200P, Full Soft Watercooling

LAN Rig: R5 3600X @ PBO, RTX 2070, 32 GB DDR4 3200, Dan Case A4-SFV V4, 120mm AIO for the CPU

HTPC: i7-7700K @ 4.6 GHz, GTX 1050 Ti, 16 GB DDR4 3200, AliExpress K39, IS-47K Cooler

Router: R3 2200G @ stock, 4GB DDR4 2400, what are cases, stock cooler

I don't have a problem...

From the reviews I have seen though the photon res/pump combo actually hurts the performance of the d5, where as most other combo's or top improve it.

From personal usage it worked in a system while lying horizontal with 2 GPUs, 2 rads, and a CPU. So I would have to disagree that it hurts your performance.

Which doesn't mean much. I am talking about overall head pressure and flow. The pump has power to spare in your current situation.. so that wouldn't be an indicator.

I mean I have a d5 in a loop with 3 rads, 2 gpus , and a cpu. I have no flow issues. I have also have a few DDC builds which run great too. The point I am making that that combo vs another when testing head pressure and flow.. showed it was under performing compared to other setups

And the point I'm making is if a 7980-XE renders a video faster than a 7960X, that doesn't mean you should always buy it.

If the performance of the photon is sufficient for the OP, and it has the other features that appeal to them, then there's no reason not to go for it. Unless they NEED the utmost flow and pressure to make their loop work, trading some of that off for looks is perfectly reasonable.

seen it but it won't work correctly with corsair link. Unless it won't be easy and it would probably involve some kind of a microcontroller. Thanks anyway
