Well I am going to run an i7-8700k at something around 5 GHz, a GTX 1070ti FTW, 16GB of RAM and the rest doesn't really make a difference.

I'd get a better PSU then. Go for something like EVGA G2/G3/Corsair TXM/RMx/SeaSonic Focus Plus/Focus Plus Gold/PRIME Gold/be Quiet! Straight Power 11. If you have the money for those components, you likely have the money for a good PSU.

Hey There

I would be very greatful if you guys could help me pick a semi-modular PSU for my new build. I'll need a 650 PSU for the system and since there are so many PSU's to choose from I don't know which one is the best bang for the buck. I am a college student so keep that in mind.

Thanks, Felix.

Could put in the search parameters in Newegg. Then buy price and rating. That would tell you bang for the buck.

Then buy that model from where ever gives you the best price.

I bought the CX650 for my sis and works great, I think there's a more expensive model called CX650M, it's the exact same unit but with flashy connectors

Why 650W? What components?

Generally you won't need 650 unless you have HEDT/Vega/SLI/CF/R9 Firehouse X2.

Those units are still in the affordable side of things, $60-100 :)
