did i get a good deal?

so today on r/hardware swap i purchased an i7 3820 in an asus rampage IV extreme with 16gb if GeIL 1866mhz ram for $200 USD to upgrade my wifes PC

one of the PCIE clips is broken and one of the RAM slot clips is broken but other than that everything works perfectly

my wife will be upgrading from a prebuilt with 8gb of ram and an AMD APU

she mainly plays games and streams to twitch

her GPU is a 1050ti

i guess the questions i have here are:

1. was this a good deal?

and

2. what kind of performance gains should she expect? i am trying to quantify the upgrade for her because she was kind of skeptical about spending 200 bucks (she isnt really well versed in tech... yet...)

I think those 200 bucks are well worth it.

The 3820 is still a pretty capable CPU and paired with a 1050Ti it should be no problem running any game at 1080p.

Also 16GB of RAM is nice to have these days.

yea, i was pleasantly surprised that the ram was included, i was just looking for a CPU and motherboard that was still DDR3 compatible, ram is SOO expensive these days that i wanted to reuse her, 16gb is ~200 bucks on its own these days
