What are some good, silent 140mm fan options?

CasualGamer...

I am looking for some good quality 140mm fans, preferably around 1500rpm maximum speed, pwm or not, it doesn't matter. Anyone have some good recommendations? I don't care for rgb or anything like that, just performance.

They probably are, but they are a bit on the expensive side.

That they are too. Worth it though, from everyone I've talked to that uses them.

bequiet Silent Wings 3 are also pretty good.

Would you say these are a good option?  Phanteks - PH-F140XP

I wouldn't say they're a bad option, but I've never had any experience or watched any reviews with Phanteks fans.

That's what dBA readings might say but NF-A14's are more smooth to the ear from my experience and from what I've read online. They're much less prone to ticking at low rpm.

SW3's are even quieter than NF-A14's but performance isn't as good in restrictive areas at low rpm.

They're good at least when powered using dc. http://www.silentpcreview.com/article1346-page6.html

They perform well for the noise and sound like a smooth woosh at 5v --still not as quiet as the NF-A14 for me which blends into the background noise.

I run the PH-F140SP's at 5v in LittleRed which are the same fans with a 3pin connector. Not sure how they do with pwm but most fans sound smoother using dc.

Where are the fans being used?

Where are you shopping/located? Budget?
