Xeon X3480 vs i7 880 ?

hello everyone,

 

which of those two CPUs will you choose for power and which one is better than the other (dont care about price, just speed and power)

 

Xeon X3480 or i7 880 ??

 

please provide detailed answers.

they are both the same cpu. the 875K is better

thanks for your answer.... but the i7 875K is not compatible with an iMac unfortunately :(

 

why do you think they produce two exactly the same CPUs ? i mean of the xeon is like the i7, why they produce them ?

i didnt realise you had a mac. the xeon will support more feature than the i7 you can compare them on intel ark. tbh i would just go with the cheaper of the 2 because they will perform the same.

Is it true that the x3480 is a single cpu for single socket motherboards?

yes. only the socket 1366 and 55xx 56xx cpu's can be used in 2 socket config from that gen.
