Ive noticed a lot of streamers use a second PC for streaming. Do these have to be beastly machines?

Just curious, was asked this the other day

Thanks

depends if you have a decent cpu like 8700k gaming and streaming is nothing

less then 40% usage streaming pubg in 1080p 60 fps though its flawed cuzz it will never be smooth at 60fps during rapid movement because of twitch bitrate limit

Im sure ryzens 8 core + cpus could accomplish the same feat

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Streaming on a second pc you could get away with like an i5 3gen + if your not changing encoding preset

Theres also ways to stream without using cpu like nvida's shadowplay and intel's quicksync encoding

However they come with there own issues as nothing looks better then cpu encoding (x264)

No they don’t have to be “beastly” machines, basically streamers have a capture card in their pc via pcie and output the display from the main pc on the 2nd computer and stream it the 2nd computer. Most of the time you just need an alright cpu and a basic gpu like a 1050ti.

I think main reason to even use 2nd PC is to have solid recording for all footage without it causing issues while gaming. Capture cards are handling part of encoding anyway, and they are needed to even have 2nd PC.
