Remove the wooden wall skirting, put the cable behind it, re-apply the wall skirting.

Although the easier option would be to buy a couple Powerline adapters and not deal with the long cord at all. Using those would also be less permanent than tearing out the trim and everything.

Seems like a good idea but if the situation is as the pic shows, it also means removing the trim not only from the floor, but also around the doors.  Cable may provide better service in this situation but if he is looking for ease of installment, go with the power line adapters.

For this I'd have to agree with previous posts and recommend the Powerline adapter; or MoCA adapters if both rooms have COAX TV that are connected.

Whenever I need to do that I just go up and around the door frame. If it is too visible, just paint it to match the wall.
