I for until yesterday thought that the normal way to place your fingers on a keyboard was with your ring finger on w, pinkie on a, middle finger on e and pointer on d.

I learned that everyone else uses their three middle fingers for wasd.

I am wondering how you guys do it and if i should switch over to my three middle fingers and if it would affect me gaming wise to keep using my pinkie, pointer and ring fingers.

Thanks!

If at first you don't succeed...

Call it version 1.0

You can do whatever works for you. There's no right way to do it.

Most people will use the three middle fingers though, and most games have their keybindings set to work for that, with shift and Ctrl being pressed with the pinkie finger, generally with the pinkie resting on shift, which is why shift is used for sprinting most of the time.

I do it like this.

Pinkie: Shift

Ring finger: A
