Discord compatible audio interface or mic

Hey all,

 

I have had problems with audio in Discord for a long time now. I'm an audiophile, so I don't use onboard audio or gaming headsets. While the audio quality, when Discord works, has been good, getting my stuff to work with Discord at all has been troublesome.

 

I have a Mac and a PC.

 

Mac:

Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 over Firewire, with a condenser mic over XLR. Discord desktop doesn't work at all with it, neither audio in or out. Discord via Chrome or Opera has technically worked, but been spotty and I've had complaints about being hard to understand. Not what I want. I've basically given up on Discord voice on my Mac.

 

PC:

I've used a few audio interfaces (most recently a Presonus Firestudio Mobile via Firewire, and a Focusrite Scarlett 6i6g1. Both have given me a ton of issues from crashing to Discord not wanting to work with either of them. Eventually both broke enough that I've stopped using them.

 

So I am looking for either a USB mic, or a USB Audio Interface for my PC. I'm looking for one that will work without issues. If it's a mic, I'd prefer it to fit on my standard mic arm (3/8" or 5/8" screw mount). What would you suggest I get?

 

I am not looking for gaming headsets or the modmic/V-Moda.
