Different Speed Ram

Go to solution Solved by Crunchy Dragon,

If you install the 2133Mhz stick, it needs to be installed in the primary DIMM slot(or slot A1 on your motherboard). The board will then default all the RAM installed to the speed of the slowest DIMM, in your case everything will run at DDR4-2133 speed.

Overclocking can be done if necessary, I personally haven't had any problems with just 2133Mhz.

So I recently built a new pc but only put in one stick of memory because thats all I could afford at the time. Now I have enough money to buy more memory. The thing is I bought one stick of 2400mhz ram (https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820232256&cm_re=4gb_gskill_aegis-_-20-232-256-_-Product) and now I'm looking at this (https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820232248&cm_re=gskill_aegis_8gb-_-20-232-248-_-Product)  Its $3 cheaper than the 2400mhz speed one and is only like 200mhz slower. My question is If I install the 2133mhz stick with my 2400mhz stick will it cause any compatibility issues or slowness?
