I use ShotCut. It has a moderate learning curve but it's very, very good and easy to make professional looking videos with once you learn how. It's free and there are an ASSLOAD of tutorials on YouTube.

Davinci resolve?

Yes i use DaVinci resolve too. It is used by many filmmakers etc and for a home user it is totally free, the only problem with it is the very complicated interface and its 1329 page  manual. That's right, one and a third thousand page manual.

I agree, great for a free editor. Also it has purchasable plugins so if you decide you need an effects pack later you can buy them for very cheap. They also have official youtube tutorials on their website, which is a nice touch.

Having actual manual is actually sign of quality software. But in truth you only need basic knowledge on how to use that style of video editors (previous experience from Premier or such is plus) and tutorial playlist.

I also use DaVinci Resolve. Great community available, and a metric ass ton of tutorial videos online. I like it a lot (and am an absolute beginner at video editing).
