Hey, I was wondering how to reset my motherboard to default if i ever need to, I have an i7 8700k and an Asus Z370-E motherboard. Reason why i ask is im overclocking my CPU to 4.9 with 1.315 volts (yeah def. didnt win the silicon lottery haha). Just if I ever wanna set my CPU back to stock. I know I go into the BIOS obviously but just so I dont mess anything up ya know. Thanks for your time and input.

When you go into the BIOS, go to the save & exit tab and usually there is option for "reset to default" or "load optimized values".

If not, most motherboards (including yours) have clear CMOS jumper, which you use to reset the bios. Another option is to remove the battery from the motherboard.

If you can not turn on your PC and want to set your BIOS, you can pull out the little watch battery on your motherboard (not even going to pretend what this is called). Leave it out for a couple minutes, don't do anything else, then put it back in. This will hard reset any changes you have made to the BIOS.
