Hey guys,

I noticed for quiet some time now that my asus z97 pro gamer mainboard has a slow post compared to my other computers. I checked the windows event logger and it seems like my mainboard has an issue with the windows fast boot feature. I'm getting an id 41 kernel-power error every time i start up my computer. I already did a lot of research and found out that disableing the fast boot feature resolves this issue completely. Does someone have the same issue and is there another fix than just turning this feature off ? I'm not getting this error on any other computer that i use and i already read that this is an asus mb thing, can someone confirm this?

I always disable windows fastboot.  Have had too many software and hardware problems with it enabled.  (note:  this is different than the fastboot in the asus bios)

Okay thank you, glad i'm not the only one. Yep asus fast boot in the bios is enabled. I read something about that the "fast boot shutdown" acts like hibernation. My pc is always connected to an external net strip which i power off after the shutdown. Maybe this is causing the fast boot issue. Then again, my htpc has no critical errors even though it is connected to a net strip too.
