Importing from China

Should have added, VAT and import tax is basically the same thing. When importing from outside the EU, you have import tax and duty however when importing within the EU, you don't have to pay any of that due to the EU's one market. 

Im looking at getting the Xiaomi Notebook Pro from Gearbest. I know that if I get it sent from China or HongKong, I will have to pay import tax and VAT. My question is, since you can get them delivered from EU warehouses will I still have to pay VAT and import tax?

I have already sent a message about it but they gave me their generic response of 'If any taxes are incurred, they are charged by the destination country and not by Gearbest. Taxes are beyond Gearbest's control and are charged according to local customs policies and regulations.'

No, if you selected one of the EU warehouses and bought it, you will not have to pay import tax on it.
