jbl connect vs connect plus

I have a jbl charge 3 and from the factory it had jbl connect. I am planning on getting a new jbl speaker that has jbl connect plus. I am wondering if the jbl charge 3 received a firmware update to work with connect plus.

I would say its very unlikely to see any BT speaker to receive firmware of any kind. If there's companion software/app, that would receive updates.

Actually, JBL speakers do. I bought Charge 3 yesterday and the JBL Connect app offers me to update the speaker for it to be able to support Connect+. So good job JBL I guess! But be aware, with Connect+, you ll be able to connect with Connect+ speakers only.
