Is MSI GS43VR Phantom Pro still good?planning to get a laptop but I have a limited budget.

I found one which is refurbished at 1000$  still deciding between helios 300.

Runs hot and has OKish build quality due to small chassis.

My games are Overwatch, FarCry5, Rainbow 6 Siege and Battlefield 1.

Does it thermal throttle?

Budget is around 1000$, I think the thuderbolt 3 on this is a good addition compare to helios 300 which has a mediocre panel.

Helios 300 has mediocre cooling system which I don't suggest. The panel isn't a big issue since it's an entry level IPS not poor TN. Could you provide some links of online stores in Dubai so that I can help you to look for the best options?

 

And yes, GS43VR does runs hot and throttles under full heavy load.

Or settle with 7700HQ+1050TI laptops with good cooling like Dell 7577, Dell 7567 (IPS) and Lenovo Y520.
