System Specs:

MSI Z370 Pro Gaming Carbon

i7 8700k (Delid with Conductonaut)

MSI GTX 1080 Ti Founders Edition (Conductonaut)

Crucial Balistix Sport

Kraken X62 AIO on the CPU.

On the original motherboard BIOS I was struggling to get anywhere with the RAM overclocking and the CPU just managed to hit 5GHZ.

But after the BIOS update this happened:

I have the stock 2400mhz ram running at 3200mhz @ 1.35v manual voltage

I have the stock 3700mhz cpu running at 5200mhz on all cores @ 1.48v manual voltage (it was 1.49v on auto which is not good)

I have the GPU at +120 core +250 memory @ automatic voltage

CPU under AIDA64 reaches a peak temperature of 75c under full load

GPU under a full gaming load (Ark Survival Evolved @ 4K) reaches 88c max peak.

The system does boot at 5.4ghz but the voltage creeps over 1.5v which i'm not happy with. I am planning to water cool the GPU at some point for some cooler temps there.

In Cinebench R15 I got: 1602 on the CPU and 177.76 fps on the GPU.

1.48 is allot for every day use if you ask me, if you just did it for a cinebench run it's fine.

your r15 score seems low for 5.4, i have mine at 5.1ghz and it does 1650

My R15 was taken at 5.2. I think I just have some average silicone. I agree 1.48 is a lot. I'm thinking about dropping to 5ghz for daily use. I can do that at 1.45 probably. I plan to run some rests at 4.8, 4.9, 5.0 and 5.1. But I expect the reason for my low score is my ram. I am pushing it 800mhz more than its designed for, its not the best ram in the first place. Crucial still remains the budget option for ram although its damn good; I don't expect it to keep up with the likes of Corsair Vengeance, G-Skill Ripjaws etc
