Missing storage space

Hiya was wondering if anyone could help. My C drive is an 840 evo 250GB (232GB) its nearly full yet even with hiden files shown i scaned properties and it shows 115GB yet it says in file explorer i only have 15.8GB left, cant find the missing 117 GB anywhere. Any ideas?

screen short of disk management please? Probably just a smaller partition.

You can open Windows Disk Management to check whether you created another partition on the system drive, or you just assigned 115 gb to partition C and the remaining space is still an unallocated space.

Its cool, were all busy

 

 

right click on the drive then properties My bet is lots of little files and a large allocation size. With small files there is a minnimun space used on the drive no matter how big the files are. So if this is set to 1M, 1000 4k files will use 1G, not 4M as expected.
