Ok, this idea seems really useless unless you're in an area with a lot of electrical issues, but, hear me out, a giant external power brick, plugged into what would seem to be a fanless PSU, right?  WRONG, IT'S A GIANT BATTERY, a giant battery that slots into standard ATX cases.

Yeah, the life expectancy of something like that may have to be taken into consideration.  Or do you mean the standard?  Either way.

I mean the use time of the battery itself. Most UPSes don't last longer than a couple minutes so in the event of a power outage, a user can shut everything down properly.

Yeah, that's why I stated at the beginning "would only really be useful if you're in an area with an electrical problem" and as somebody else just stated:
