Hi folks,

I've noticed that for some reason when I start my computer up it will sometimes boot for 1-2 seconds, shut down, boot up, shut down and then boot again permanently. Why does it do these "mini boots"? Is it something that ought to worry me or does it fill some kind of function?

Thanks

Do you have any kind of OC?(I should have read your signature)

Try disabling your OC,it might help.It did the job for me,then I lowered the multiplier a little.

Wait, what kind of booting up do you mean?Does it get into Windows, or simply reboots when you boot it up?

It reboots several times, it doesn't go as far as the motherboard screen or windows. Also, I did stress test my CPU after the OC and it stayed under 60 degrees C.

Disable the OC and see if it works.

Is this after cold boot or all the time? Mine does one "mini boot" after every cold boot, like when PSU switch has been turned off. Thats nothing to worry about. But your is doing quite many of them.

The only time I've noticed it is when I start my computer up in the morning after having it off during the night. The PSU switch stays on, though.

Update:

OC is at 4.3Ghz now with voltage at 1.365 and it seems to be stable. Going to do some stress testing and see what happens. The 4930k seems to vary a lot in OC capabilities.

Thanks for the help thus far anyway!
