GPU IO extension

There shouldn't be any issue with routing the display stuff, as long as you can figure out how to mod your case to do it. How exactly would you get the GPU to connect to the pcie slot, though? AFAIK, most pcie extenders aren't there aren't exactly that bendable.

Also, be aware that mounting the GPU vertical is HORRIBLE for GPU temps, unless it's watercooled. Just be aware that you could see a 10-20C increase in temps.

OK, strange question, fitting, as I am a strange man.

I want to mount my GPU vertically in my case. That doesn't mean what you think it means. I want to mount my GPU with the wide side facing the tempered glass side panel, but I also want to mount it with what would be the rear IO panel pointing up or down, not toward the back of the case.

I hear you: "But how will you plug you're display into your GPU if the IO is in the case?" That's the question I'm asking. Basically, I'm wondering if I can mod in a new rear IO port with DisplayPort, HDMI, etc. extension cables running from the GPU to the back of the case. Will this affect performance, cause lag, etc.? Has anyone ever tried anything like this on their own build?

Thanks!

Are you proposing for the fans to face the side of the case or for the backplate to face the side of the case?

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.
