Hi,

I'm a bit confused because I want to update my PC but I can't chose.

I have an i7 4820K cpu and I want to update but I don't know which one.

AMD Ryzen 1700X or AMD Ryzen 1800X or Intel i7 8700K?

I'm streaming and doing some HyperV personal lab for self educating and doing some researches and experiments.

Which one you think it's better to buy?

Thanks your answers in advance.

(Also I have a GTX1060 6GB also)

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D

CPU Cooler: Deepcool (illegal in the USA LOL) LT720 WH

GPU: Rocking with an RTX3080

get a 6 core 2011 cpu, by far the cheapest option and its still 50% faster than your current cpu in multithread.

Rig Specs:

AMD Threadripper 5990WX@4.8Ghz

What do you need most, clock speed or cores? Clockspeed:8700k cores:1700x id say. Save yourself some money to get more ram

I want reliability and long term possibilities. :)

What's your budget/country? Do you do anything besides some virtual machine work?

Best off waiting for April 19th for Ryzen 2 and X470 motherboards.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

In here n i7 8700k price is 407.08$ the Ryzen 1700x price is 323.14$

Huge difference but I don't know why. I'm in Hungary btw :)
As I mentioned, I'm streaming on twitch and doing some virtual stuff and I want to learn 3D design and cgi stuff such as liquid effect and making contents with unreal engine in the future.

Then ya probably go for the 8 core system, especially if it's cheaper

but try to wait for Ryzen 2, free 10% performance bump at the same price point and better X470 motherboards will be out.

Or if you're feeling crazy go for Threadripper with the 1900X so you can upgrade to 16+cores later, but you probably don't need that.
