ReadyNAS nightmare

MammothJerk

so here's whats going on, i bought a readyNAS 104 a few months ago and put it 2 3tb reds in raid 0 to backup my data. took me some time to figure out how to set up the automatic backup since the UI is extremely unintuitive but i got it working nonetheless.

i started noticing my internet speed dropping - as in webpages loading slower and some connections not going through at all.

i did some troubleshooting and it came around to the ReadyNAS Remote software screwing with my firewall or something so i uninstalled it but the damage had been done and i couldn't figure out how reverse it.

basically i had to do a clean windows install thrice so i know that the problem lies in the readynas remote software because when i installed it on the clean installs it would happen immediately.

Now i can no longer use my NAS because i need the remote software to connect to the UI but i dont want to install the remote software because it ruins my internet.

can please anyone help me with this? it is driving me insane...

i read somewhere that i can connect via FTPS and bypass the remote software but i have no idea how to do that or if it even works

I read Backup and RAID 0 in one sentence.. *shakes head*

You should be able to directly connect to the IP(in browser) of the NAS without the software, you'll be prompted to fill in the admin password.

That's what I'm able to do with my ReadyNAS DUOv2.

Does anyone even use PCIe SSDs?
