And now seeing the New Linus video, of  Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB 3000Mhz for $257 Canadian.... Does it REALLY make a difference?

Some people say its Day and Night.

Others say its 1 or 2 fps.

Build

CPU - R5 1600 oc 3.80

GPU - GTX1050ti

Motherboard - Asrock AB350 Pro4.

Just need some ideas, so i can stop hitting myself that i wasted money.

What GSkill kit? Do you have the SKU? At 2400MHz, it's almost certainly not B-Die, but if it's running natively at 1.2V, there's a ton of overclocking potential.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

It can make a difference but it's often negligible. It's pretty easy to justify purchasing either kit.

If you ever need help with a build, read the following before posting: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/3061-build-plan-thread-recommendations-please-read-before-posting/

It's a 1.2V kit. You can do some things with it. You should at least be able to get 2666MHz out of it.

Depends on the game. Most games? Maybe a few fps at best. Some games like gta and especially watch dogs 2? You could see 5, 10, or maybe even a 20% fps increase.

Make sure to quote me or tag me when responding to me, or I might not know you replied! Examples:

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

Is there any point to do it?

Sorry, Im kind of a rookie when it comes to this stuff.

Yes. See if your board has DOCP settings in BIOS to automatically overclock the RAM. You can probably overclock that kit to 2800MHz if you really spend time monkeying with the latencies and voltage.
