What Should i use

I know this sounds crazy but i just found a working computer in my neighborhood that has an amd fx 8310 and 16 gb of ram and i have a system that has an i3-4160 with a 1060 6gb. I was wondering if i would get better gaming performance if i used the amd instead of the i3.

Looking at various CPU benchmarks from TechSpot, which used an i3-4130 and an FX-8350 (it's the closest I could get to what you're comparing), the i3 seemed to perform the same in most of the tests. So the i3 would be better overall once taking power consumption and cooling requirements into account.

The i3 is going to be better for gaming unless you overclock that fx chip by a lot. Prepare for did heat if you do that.
