One or two PC's for streaming

I've heard about dual pc streaming setups and I think I like the sound of it so I can play on a pc without any other performance degredation beyond the game and it would cost less to build two than to build the one I planned out. Does anyone have experience with this and what they think of it, and also what a good build for each pc would be? Thanks.

you'd need a capture card to do a 2-pc setup, and i am curious to hear from the person who said building two systems for streaming is cheaper than building one beefy one, especially in the age of 8-core processors in the mainstream.

I've tried to find an answer to how much of a processor is needed for streaming and meaning it not having to upgrade for three years give or take. I never get a clear answer. I want to stream at 1080p 60fps and play games at 1440p 144fps (around there) without taking performance hits or dropping frames. So I know I'll need a 1080ti, that's never been an issue, but deciding on a cpu has killed me. What all do you suggest?

indeed. With a Ryzen 1800X you can stream without the need of 2 pcs without performance hit. If you use something like ReLive (on AMD cards) you can also stream directly to pretty much eveywhere (youtube/twitch+a few others) without the need of a capture card and without real performance hit (what, 1-2% max?).

the answer is "the more cpu power you have the better"

 

but as @The Viking suggested, get one of the ryzen 8-cores and you're essentially good to go.

wait for ryzen 2700x to hit the market though, comes out soon, has higher clockspeed=more fps

gave up on obs, had so many issues with rx480.... so glad we have relive now

mate, why do you want two pcs for streaming? we just told you that it would cost you x2 more expensive for no real difference

 

if you really want to throw money out of the window, get a threadripper 1950x for 1000e or an intel i9...7980xe? for 2000 bucks and done, you threw money out the window and have the best for streaming

it'll probably be fine, but i don't know. Somebody who knows more about intel should answer this, but I do think it'll be fine.

I personally use the 8600k and it seems to be fine at 1080p 60fps.

I'll go find my OBS settings.
