hardware resereve memory

so i just cleaned my cpus grease off and put some new stuff on and right after i turned my computer back on its only showing 12gigs ram free. ive done all the stuff such as going threw msconfig regedit all of it and it still dosent work. in the bios its showing all 4 dimms populated and says 16gigs in bios. is there anything else i can try to get it to work!!!
