How to disable screen scaling for steam

I have tried to disable screen scaling for steam, as on my monitor the text looks blurry. Windows is set to 125% and I've gone into steam.exe > properties > compatibility > and I've ticked "disable override high dpi scaling". I've done this for system, application and system (enhanced). But steam is still scaling to 125%. I have done the same for Spotify and it runs at 100% scaling when windows is set to 125%, as the programme ignores it. Anyone have any idea what else i could try. Thanks
