My PC isn't able to record my external audio with any of my headphones. I'm not sure if it's because I don't have a gaming headset or it's something with the actual options within the computer but the headsets I use do have mics attached to them and work perfectly fine on Mobile and other personal computers. What happens when I try to join a voice call on let's just say Discord, all that happens is other people only hear the internal audio of my computer like YouTube, any games that are running, etc. They can't hear the external audio such as my voice. It might be a simple issue like just not having a gaming headset but I believe that if I have headphones with a mic attached it should work just fine. Thank you.

Hi @MagicTape . Can you share with us the operating system? Win7, Win10?...

Windows 10

Scroll down to the 3rd window and try those options (I’m avoiding Windows 10 until my Win7 becomes 100% unsupported [I like to tinker with settings):

How To Geek, 2016 (?) article.

I’d also scroll down the article to the related link: How To Make Older Programs Work with Windows 10 and mess around with that.

This is an older article about dealing with bizzare sound issues with Windows.

I agree with @userzero ... there’s something wonky going on in your “playback” settings, in audio, that’s in your system tray.

Yeesh... PC audio. It’s why I eventually bailed on it and went the external amp/DAC option (and found NEW problems to deal with [heh heh]).
