I7 Xeon Equivalent?

So, I would like to build something entry-level. I would like to know if there is an i7 equivalent on the Xeon side? Preferably LGA1151 or something of that nature. Thanks!

There is, but for the money you should opt for something more mainstream imo

Im currently using a xeon e5-1650 which is a 6 core 12 thread cpu and is almost identical in performance to a ryzen 1600 with just a bit of overclocking (multiplier unlocked xeon) the main downside to this cpu is it uses an x79 motherboard which are still pricey and hard to find. the upside is the cpu cost me less than £100 ($141) and uses ddr3 which is much cheaper to get hold of than ddr4.

 

my full setup (cpu,motherboard,ram,cooler) cost a total of £340 ($480)

 

if you're wanting something more recent be careful when looking as a lot of xeons are multiplier locked which means very limited if any overclocking
