Posted March 22, 2018 I just saw that the first Mellanox ConnectX-4 adapters hit ebay. I am currently using a ConnectX-2 adapter as a 20gbit ethernet adapter. They use QSFP fibre channel as cabling. It would be VERY interesting to see a proper review or even video about them. Since they can be used in Windows and even have 2 Ports, I dont even see a reason why Link aggregation would not work to get real 100Gbit Ethernet transfer speeds. Does anyone else use these at home for fun? They can handle 50Gbit using PCIe 3.0 x16 and can do IEEE 802.3ad, 802.1AX Link Aggregation. All that for for around 200 bucks oO This would be the link to them: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mellanox-ConnectX-4-50GbE-Dual-Port-Network-Interface-Card-Model-MCX416A-GCAT/273068802697?hash=item3f942b4289:g:mIQAAOSw~YRag8ip
 Posted March 22, 2018 eventually 10gig will become the norm. I still remember the 56kbps days then 10 and 10/100. All my equipment is 10/100/1000 now. All m new servers I have planned have 10gig connections.

Posted March 22, 2018 This is enterprise tech and not even that new either to be honest. Can’t see a home tech geek channel like LTT being interested. temember that all the ‘cool new tech’ they talk about has been around in the enterprise space for years before it hits the consumer/enthusiast market. also those connections are proprietary cables it doesn’t use standard fibre/copper cabling afaik. I’ve got them in my (ten year old) hp blade virtualconnect modules
