Squarespace - website designer that uses square space only

Back again to the LTT community for input.

 

Business is coming together slowly. Location - check, company name - check, renovations - half check, website - insert wompy trumpet noise here.

 

So the website has me checking around in regards for pricing. So far its either 3K+ for 6-7 pages and cheap monthly hosting (hostgator.com) or 1200 dollars and 40 dollars a month hosting. 

 

Just recently I came across one designer who uses only squarespace.com (of course I'm thinking well I got that linus 10% off)  Still waiting for an approximate price of what the build would cost. Wondering what some of the benefits and draw backs are (the monthly business cost is $18 and $20 for the domain name). 

 

At this point the business will be opening to the clients May 1st so I'm not in a major rush but still want to give the designer sometime and reserve the domain.
