I'm currently running 16gb of 2133hmz RAM, two sticks of Crucial 8GB DDR4 2133 MT/s (PC4-17000) to be exact on my system, and thinking about moving to 32gb .

Now they are currently out of stock of 2133, but they do have 2400 ( the price difference is insignificant), now i know that mixing RAM downclocks the RAM speed.

1. Should I care?

2. Will it downclock even though they are sitting on two different channels? (im assuming so, but just double checking)

1) not really, that's up to you to decide.

2) yes.

Why are you upgrading to 32gb? Are you fully using up your 16gb and being forced to use the page file?

Its a workstation, most of the work I do is photo and video editing while not I'm not capping out I'm pretty damn close. Along with my ADD, a little bit more RAM seemed like a good idea :)
