Hello there! I have a question, I am in need of a netbook for my robotics program. You see, in the FIRST Robotics Competition we have dedicated computers for a “Drive Station” and ours is getting… old to say the least. We are looking to upgrade, but we need these things at a minimum:

I/O: 3 USB 2.0 Ports, 1 Ethernet

Battery Life: Preferably 8 hours.

Screen Size: 10 inches or so.

Thanks for any help!

Who needs fancy graphics and high resolutions when you can get a 60 FPS frame rate on iGPUs?

I would add an SSD to your list of requirements since a new laptop is pretty much guaranteed to be windows 10, which is UNBEARABLE on a HDD compared to an SSD.

I mean most are equipped with a eMMC drive, which is sufficient enough for our purposes. It literally has to be able to boot up one program.

We need a 10 inch is the thing. A tiny one, with the new Cherry Trails. This is what we have been using. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0093GU8A4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_h8fSAbHQC28RV

wait what, the Dell I recommended is 15.6 inches , are you asking the laptop to be max and min of 10 inches ?

Yeah, we want it to be as portable as possible. It’s gonna be attached to a “Drive Station” with One or Two flight sticks and put to One wired controller. We want to make it lightweight so it’s not painful to carry a massive laptop. Although some teams do use full size laptops (one had a Dell Inspiron Gaming 7000 series, a tad bit overkill for running this program), we generally use a smaller one. I would say up to 13 inches but most in that category are expensive. I’m mostly looking for something that passively runs windows with decently fast boot and a small size for easy portability. It’s really weird, I know, but the program we run runs absolutely fine on an old Atom (the model I posted has a celeron but we have the Atom).

I'm not sure if you are still looking, but Levono has some good options. My team uses a Lenovo T430 for the Driver Station and have a T530 for programming.

Thanks! I’ll take a look at em!
