weary
Go to solution Solved by uncfan07,

so earlier I asked if i should pick an alienware with

Processor: Intel Core 7th Generation i7-7700HQ Processor (Quad Core, up to 3.80 GHz, 6MB Cache, 35W)
Windows 10 Home 64bit English
1TB 2.5inch SATA3 Hard Drive 512e 2.5 inch (7200 RPM)
8GB DDR4 Non-ECC SDRAM 2400MHz (1x8GB)
17.3 inch FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS Anti-Glare 300-nits Display
NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1060 6GB
McAfee LiveSafe 12-month
Dell Outlet Alienware 17R4 Laptop

VS

a cyberpowerpc laptop with
CPU: Intel® Core™ Processor i7-7700HQ 2.8GHz Turbo 3.8GHz 6MB Cache Processor (KabyLake)
RAM / System Memory: 16GB (8GBx2) DDR4/2133MHz SODIMM Memory (Performance Memory by Major Brands)
Laptop: 15.6" FHD IPS (1920 x 1080) Anti-Glare Displays LCD w/ RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, HDMI 1.4 & mini Display Port
Video Card: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1070 8GB GDDR5 (Pascal)[VR Ready] (NB-408-106)
M.2 SSD: 500GB WD Blue Series M.2 SATA-III 6.0Gb/s SSD - Seq R/W: Up to 545/525 MB/s, Rnd R/W up to 100/80k (Single Drive)

my issue was that I wasnt so sure about the cyberpower laptop becuase of the company reputation as well as the build quality.
My question now is a 1070 graphics card even worth it?? also is there any other laptop I could consider for under 1200

Games I play:
Overwatch
Arma 3
Rainbow six siege
gta
PUBG
CSGO

Thanks

Everything but ARMA 3 can be played pretty alright at 1080p 60fps on a sub $500 Ryzen APU PC, would suggest just grabbing that and saving the rest of your budget for a future GPU upgrade.

Unless you 100% need a laptop? In which case I'd suggest you just buy a far cheaper GTX 1050 machine or something

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

i would recommend that you split your budget into a laptop and a PC if you do this you would honestly get more performance for the same price or lower.

ps. The gtx 1070 is a very good card but i'm not sure how a laptop runs it. look into it

What is the price difference between the two?

Do not do this if you're shopping at a $1200 price point.

That HDMI 1.4 bothers me.

edit:

Never mind. I should have kept reading and would have immediately seen the mini Display Port.
