I need HELP!! 1080

Jacoby1960

I have been getting under 20 fps on Total War Attila

Cpu| i-7 7700

GPU| msi gtx 1080

16gb ram

Motherboard| Msi B250 PC Mate

I assumed the issue was with the gpu, so I am sending my 1080 in for repairs, so I bought a 1050 ti to substitute in the mean time. But I am still getting less than 20 fps. Please help, I’m so tired of this not working as it should. I know the motherboard is a bottleneck but I should not be losing 90% performance with my GPU’s...

Motherboards don't bottleneck or impact performance at all.

That said, update drivers.

Well that’s good to know so I sound at least partially competent.

What about if I used a cloned hard drive? Could older software from my laptop be stopping the gpu’s from working properly?

Usually it wouldn't, I would make sure your drivers are installed for the GPUs.

From what I can tell, your GPUs are only acting as display adapters and the actual GPU in use is your integrated Intel HD chip.

Yeah, reinstall drivers and all.

i5 6600k and GTX 1070 but I play 1600-900. 1440p BABY!

Still, don't put too much faith in my buying decisions. xD

Did you plug the display cable to the mobo's rear I/O?

like  Jurrunio said make sure your hdmi is plugged into the gpu and not the mobo's hdmi port and make sure theres no software for your gpu that has the fps capped like afterburner or the like
