Please help me to find out what i need for my pc to performe correctly.

Hello, im discovering a low FPS, and bad perfomance when gaming, and alot of stuttering.

When i play Call of Duty World War 2, i have a fps on the medium settings at 110-150, in some maps alot lower, and when bombs explode i discover alot of stuttering. With my specs, that you can see down in the bottom of this post, i've seen some reach a stable fps 180-200 and above, with the highest settings how come this be? When i play league of legends i get a fps at 250 in the start then when getting to my lane it drops to 130-140, usually with my specs you get 200 stable. Also in pubg and h1z1 i get 80 fps on medium settings, and i've seen many reach much higher frame rates.

MY SPECS:::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Motherboard:

gigabyte z270 ultra gaming

Memory:

2x DDR4 2133MHZ 8GB. So i got 16 gb, cuz i have two of these.

CPU:

I7 7700k kaby lake, water cooled with double fans.CPU and cooling:

GPU:

Gigabyte gtx 1080TI.

Powersupply:

Corsair TX650

Storage 250 gb samsung ssd connected in sata 3 6gb/s. Windows installed on my SSD, HDD is being used for storaging big games and files.

DISKUSSION:

Can it be my powersupply thats two old, only 650 watts powering all my devices, or is it my ram not properly put in due to the fact that i have 2 ram out of 4 slots how should i put them in my gigabyte z270 ultra gaming whats the order.

Someone please help me.

If your using a Z270x ultra gaming mobo then FOR 2 MODULES USE : DDR4_2 and DDR4_1 or DDR4_4 and DDR4_3.

I would also turn on XMP in the bios to ensure that you have the proper timings set for the ram to ensure that everything is runnjng and peak performance.

Since you have a 7700k you should also be able to relatively easily and safely over lock that to 4.8GHz. Making this changes would likely help you out.

Oh and if your’ee wondering if there’s any throttling happening on your CPU, if you download Intel Tuning Utility and run it in the background while gaming, you can easily see if your CPU is running at full capacity.

PSUs mosten aren't the problem if they have enought wattage. For the RAM slots just take a look at your mobo manual...it's all written there...What cooler do you have for you CPU? do you notice any thermal throtteling? On what resolution are you playing?

So i should download a tuning utility, is it good if my cpu is being used 100 percent?

no, that's not, but how do you use 100% of a 7700k while gaming? you don't even play that cpu intensive games, do you have a lot of background tasks open? like browser windows or stuff?

There aren't that many games that can utilies all of the cpu cores so 40 percent is totally fine.Tbh I right now don't see any problem why you shpuld get lags. You are using you GPU and not your iGPU?

Intel's tuning utility will help you see if your CPU is thermal throttling due to overheating and see it's overall performance. Your CPU usage will very from task to task and game to game. 100% CPU usage might be more relevant in certain games like Assassin's Creed Origin's, but less so in others like CSGO. What's more important to look at is the speed of the CPU when playing a game. If you haven't overclocked it, you should see it performing at 4.20GHz at the very least when gaming. If you see something significantly less, then that might point us to why you're having issues.

You're slower RAM miiiight be the causes of some of the inconsistencies you're experiencing. So making sure that you have your ram in the proper slots and that you have XMP enabled in your BIOS. For you're beefy build I would recommend RAM running at 3000GHZ. Less then 2133GHz and you maaay see a slight FPS drop in some games and perhaps more stuttering. This will very from game to game and in some there would be no difference, in others the bag might be about 10fps. But you should be with your current setup be getting about 140fps in games likes PUBG for sure.

Lastly after you do all these things but issues still persist, you should completely reinstall your Nvidia drivers. Start by completely uninstalling them by using this tool: http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

If the issues still persist I would recommend backing up your data and reinstall Windows 10 on your computer. Reinstalling Windows 10 is a breeze. No DVD, USB drive, or drive image required. Just follow these steps here: https://www.howtogeek.com/132428/everything-you-need-to-know-about-refreshing-and-resetting-your-windows-8-pc/

So if i overclock my cpu to 4.8 ghz, i've done that i discovered lag spikes when big explosions happened in call of duty ww2 for example.

If i bought 2 ram sticks running at 3000 mhz, would the lag dissapear then?

Hello, i just downloaded intel extreme tuning utility. I clicked start benchmark runnning my intel i7 7700k 4.2 ghz. I reached a "PACKAGE temperature" thats how its said on the utility of 70 celcious after 10 seconds is there something wrong?

Here's the recommended operating range for Core temperature:

80C Hot (100% Load)
75C Warm
70C Warm (Heavy Load)
60C Norm
50C Norm (Medium Load)
40C Norm
30C Cool (Idle)
25C Cool

Core temperatures up to 80C are safe. When you're gaming how hot does your CPU get? Also what you want to keep your eyes on, is where it says, "Thermal Throttling". If it's anything higher then 0%, that's not good.

I'm really not convinced that overclocking is neccessary to get past a bottleneck. If he's running at high frame rates most of the time, tuning the settings in his games is a much better option.

I hope he's been made aware that overclocking his CPU will void his warranty!

The CPU is still overclocked. But for your ram, have you should make sure:

  • That the ram are in the right slots
  • That you have XMP enabled in the bios.

I offer a lot of different things to help diagnose the issues they are having, but also offer ways to improve their FPS. Overclocking a CPU to 4.8GHz is safe, and if you'e got the right mobo, really easy to do. I think you're the first person I've met that's expressed concern that the CPU's warranty will be voided.

But his stuttering and low performance is not likely due to his CPU not being or being overclocked. He really need to ensure his ram is in the right slots, and that the ram's timings are correct. Not having his ram setup properly can likely be the cause of his low fps and stuttering.

it should be set to maximum in both places to keep the CPU and GPU clock rates from changing.  When the clocks change it can cause stutters and overall inconsistent performance, especially in games that do not load the system much.

Without setting them to maximum, you may end up with the system reverting to idle clocks in games that should otherwise push very high FPS

According to the manual I found on your board you’ll want to do the following:

  • Enter your bios
  • Select the M.I.T tab
  • Select Advanced Frequency Settings
  • Scroll to Extreme Memory Profile (X.M.P.)
  • If Disabled, select Profile 1
  • Then save the changes made

Thanks for the screenshot. It's possible that your memory doesn't support XMP, which would be kind of surprising. That, or your memory isn't fully compatible with your board. The later would be a bigger issue. What kind of memory do you have? If you could provide the module serial for the memory sticks, that would be best. If you wanted to search yourself you can find the supported memory list for your motherboard here: http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/Memory/mb_memory_ga-z270x-ultra-gaming.pdf

Will i get a better fps just if i buy 2*3600ghz ram sticks 8 gb, or should i overclock my cpu and then get the fps or will i even get a higher fps just from buying new memory with higher frequency? Right now i have 2100 ghz.
