Specs!

Ryzen 5 1400, gtx 1050ti, 16gb viper ram, tomahawk b350 board

So I actually just resloved an issue I was having that was limiting my cpu, through these forums so I felt inclined to try again. (not for lack of youtubing and googling where I just find reccomened settings which none of work anyways..)

I'm attempting to stablize my OC. I've gotten it the most stable at 3.75ghz and 1.2875v. That being said it will pass cinibench every time where none others have with the exception of the first test I ran 3.8ghz at 1.325v. Which i cant even get that to pass anymore. When i attempt to run prime95 it kicks out after just a few minutes everytime.. ive tried a lot of variations. I started aat 1.25v and pushed up from the native 3.2ghz all the way to 3.7.5 before it fails cinebench. That's when I can up it incrementally to 1.2875 v to get it to pass cinebench again.

I've also tried going past 3.75 but it fails again at 3.8 and upping or lowering Volts isn't getting me to pass cinebench.

I'm sure there are loads of people that have the answer. this is just my first OC capable PC so I'm still learning!

so what part of this is abou GPUs? :P

anyway safe voltage for Ryzen is up to 1.42V from what i know so as long as you have the cooling, give it more voltage. i also find P95 unrealisticly brutal and would not use it because it crashes shit that never else has problems for me no matter what. use IBT or OCCT or something

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

It's funny u say that. My dictionary factory out of the box had GPU stored and not CPU so everytime I type it in it shot corrects to GPU even though I've added CPU to my dictionary..

Also I tried doing 3.9ghz at a higher voltage and so far I'm seeing anything after 1.35v is failing cinibench immediately at any frequency.. I'll try one of the other test benches u suggested to.

I ended up using OCCT (which i like quite a bit) i am finally able to get 3.8ghz to make it through cinebench at 1.3625v (which is the max voltage i can use before my cpu is degraded down to 1.55ghz due to whatever issue causes it..) i can get a 803cu with 100fps consistently but when it comes to stressing im still failing after a couple minutes even after a lot of tweaking. i just cant get it to stay stable under stress for some reason. gaming, streaming, none of it shuts me down besides the stress test.

Roll with it if it's fine during what you do, tweak it if it crashes
