so i have a modular power supply, seasonic m12-ii evo, but im using a corsair 8 pin cable in it, i had to kinda force it into the psu though, it works perfectly fine so far and is snug in, i heard u cant/not suppose to interchange psu power cables, but if i managed to do it, would it be safe? just asking to be safe.

8pin corsair cable from what model? PCIe or EPS?

Also, are you using that cable now? If not, please don't, there's a good chance it's incompatible and you can kill something

for my gpu

Maybe the wire gauge is different?  If the Seasonic wires are smaller gauge, the voltage can drop more under heavy loads.
