Okay, yea you're going to need try borrowing that APU from AMD and try updating the bios yourself.

Hey, just an update. I got it working now, just had to take 1 stick of RAM out and it booted! No idea why but my friend suggested it is faulty.

My build:

APU - Ryzen 3 2200g

PSU - Corsair CX550

HDD - WD 500gb

Motherboard - ASRock AB350M HDV

RAM - Crucial 2x 4gb

I have few questions. What do I do if there is 4 pin CPU connector on MOBO but my PSU cable has which are not splittable?

Would a SATA3 cable work with a regular SATA drive?

Before all the assembly, I have realised that my MOBO didn't support my APU out of the box so I send it back to the retailer I bought it from and update my BIOS. Yesterday it came back and began to put my parts together, making sure I connected my cables to the right place. When I finished it, the DVI-D cable would just give me no signal at all so I can't access my BIOS or even see anything. My last choice is to borrow an APU from AMD to solve this but I'm afraid that the same thing will happen.

Any advice is appreciated.

1. There should be a split CPU power cable. There HAS to be.

2. Yes, that cable will work just fine.

3. They probably messed up the BIOS update. Borrow a CPU from AMD and do it yourself.

1. Tried to split it but it doesn't

3. I will try to update this thread whenever I have received it and tried it. I have a friend that has and Ryzen CPU and a dedicated GPU but he won't let me so it will be more time waiting :(

1. Should've done some research :$ Apparently, your CPU power cable doesn't split...weird. Buy a new PSU.

Well, if it works, why's it an issue :P

Okay.. just to check compatibility,

please go to pcpartpicker, start a build list, and add all of your parts in there by model number.

Then hit one of the buttons up top to share the URL and post it here.

I want to see if that power supply is even compatible before anything else.

If the 8 pin CPU power doesn't split then it doesn't matter.

One of its sides will still fit. It's keyed and should go in easily, so you can't get it wrong.

It's not a race to the bottom.

Nice.

I'm glad you figured it out :)

Yea, ram is often a culprit.

Don't forget to mark this as solved... even though your own answer will be the solution :P
