Strange stutter in Windows and Games

Puerto_Rico

Sometimes when I'm using my PC it kinda stutters, for like a less than a second. It doesn't matter what I'm doing, from watching videos on youtube to gaming. I don't know how to identify the sound but it sounds something like in this video in the first few seconds of the video.

These are my specs:

R5 1600x@4.00GHz

Corsair Venegance LPX 3200@3200

MSI B350 Tomahawk

MSI 1080 Ti Armor

PSU: Corsair RM 650W

CPU and GPU temps seem fine. CPU is at around 30C when idle and max around 65C under load.

Is this inicating something is potentially going to go bad, should I be worried?

Given that it's Ryzen, try running your RAM at a lower frequency, like 2666 or 2933 MHz, and see if it happens again.

RAM problems can cause all kinds of weird things to happen. When I was using Ryzen and trying to get my RAM stable at 3200, my wallpaper even got discolored once.

Current Build:

CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X3D

GPU: RTX 3080 Ti FE

RAM: 32GB G.Skill Trident Z CL16 3200 MHz

Mobo: Asus Tuf X570 Plus Wifi

CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X53

PSU: EVGA G6 Supernova 850

Case: NZXT S340 Elite

Current Laptop:

Model: Asus ROG Zephyrus G14

CPU: Ryzen 9 5900HS

GPU: RTX 3060

RAM: 16GB @3200 MHz

Old PC:

CPU: Intel i7 8700K @4.9 GHz/1.315v

RAM: 32GB G.Skill Trident Z CL16 3200 MHz

Mobo: Asus Prime Z370-A

It was happening even with lower RAM  frequency and also I forgot to mention, my PC completly froze while I was playing Battlefield 1 accompanied with the sound so I was forced to reboot.

it could be the weird windows 10 microstutter issue.

run command prompt as admin.

type in:

bcdedit /set disabledynamictick yes

press enter, then reboot.

Have you tried running Windows Memory Diagnostic or memtest86?

Did it, everything is ok.

My PC froze again today while I was gaming. I really don't understand what the problem is.

Dang.  Okay.... process of elimination time.  Any chance you've got an older video card lying around that you could replace the 1080 with for a bit?

I don't have any spare GPU. This video is good representation on what happens minus black screen. I did a clean istall of drivers, so I'll see how that goes.
