I'd like to get into linux but my wifi adapter wont work. I found a thread with a user asking for help as well and someone linked a driver which he said worked but it doesn't for me. I had to edit to add the link this forum wont let me post the link in here but will let me post other links?? This website is weird Ill post the link in the reason for edit

I would recommend editing your title. I only clicked because it was puzzling. After reading your description, I assume you mean a Wireless AC adapter and not a AC power supply.


Based on your link it looks like you might have a Mediatek MT7601U based USB wireless adapter, is that correct?

Did you check the additional drivers in settings?  It's a possibility that it's disabled.

I can't read the link because the reason for edit is not visible on mobile (EDIT: or, more likely the op accidentally removed it?).

 

However, it's worthwhile to include all relevant information like what kind of computer (laptop, dekstop) along ith exact model and/or the wifi adapter model here. Chances are you do not need the same (but some different) driver than the other user (in the link I can not find).

 

You may be able to identify the adapter from 'lspci' or 'lsusb'. Pasting the outputs of those commands here might be a good idea (provided you can use a LAN cable or move the text by some other means).
