Go for it, that's a pretty good deal.

Hey I'm looking for a new PSU for my sis' computer, it's my old rig and it currently has a cheap modded 500w PSU that sounds like a jet, it has a delta fan because it overheats

specs are

AMD FX 8350 currently at stock vcore/freq but I plan on overclocking it back to 4.8

Corsair H100i cooler (the old model)

R9 290x 8GB I also want to put it back

8GB memory

Hard drive

DVD drive

4 fans (no leds)

That build had a 620w PSU back in the day but it's gone now

Looking for a non modular model if possible (cheaper) oh and the board needs EPS + 6pin to overclock and the graphics card 8+6 pin. I want it to be stable thanks guys

ASUS X470-PRO • R7 1700 4GHz • Corsair H110i GT P/P • 2x MSI RX 480 8G • Corsair DP 2x8 @3466 • EVGA 750 G2 • Corsair 730T • Crucial MX500 250GB • WD 4TB

Clarify this for us.....

The motherboard has an 8-pin EPS connector and a 6-pin PCIe connector.  Correct?

The graphics card needs two PCIe connections.  One 6-pin and one 8-pin.  Correct?

So you need a PSU with one EPS12V connector (easy.  99% of them have at least one) and at least three PCIe?

I would get a Corsair CX550M(cheaper than normal 550 in my experience).

Also, when you say R9 290x, do you mean 390x? IIRC the 290x only went up to 4Gb

Yes, only 1 EPS and 3 PCIe, that would need a strong 12V line

Huh, interesting. I never knew that card existed.

+ @Crunchy Dragon I went to corsair and it says "PCIe Connector: 2" are we talking about 2 8pin connectors here or...? Oh and a problem this board has is that the extra power connector is too far from the graphics card so there's no way to connect both using a single cable

The CX550M has 2 PCIe cables, both are 6+2pin cables that will run as either a 6pin connector or 8pin connector.

it'll be ok if I use a single cable for the graphics card? it uses up to 350W afaik

and the cpu must be around 150 if not more, that's 500 and I think the rest of stuff will use more than 50W

oh now I remember why it had the 620w PSU

guess I'll have to blow like $120 to get a RMx or similar.. thats the bad thing about AM3

Yeah, or you could get a CX650M.

AM3 systems drew a lot of power, even at stock settings...
