Hi, I bought a PC online.

I customized it.

There is no OS installed and so requested license for windows 10.

PC arrived today - all components already built in.

I intended to connect my VGA connected monitor to the base unit and then connect my external CD/DVD writer  via USB and install the drivers for the windows 10 and varies other drivers.
However the PC does not recognise my monitor - comes up no signal.

I will be contacting IT support from the website I bought the PC from but am in a panic and so submitting this post for a second opinion.

Since you did not include a list of the parts, we can't determine what is, and is not, working.  With no operating system, the only thing you might get on the monitor is your BIOS.  To be honest with you, I have not encountered a VGA video connection is quite a while.  What is the mobo and what  is the monitor for starters and while you're at it, go ahead and include the rest of the system specs.  Did you order the machine with, or without, the operating system?

What are your specs? There could be a lot at play here. You plugging the VGA cable to the motherboard rear I/O when you have a video card for example could be the problem.
