Maximus X Hero- how to change Socket m2 to x4

I just installed a 960 evo nvme ssd and it is running at x2. The slot supports X4 and will disable SATA 5/6 which I don't use anyway. Where in the ASUS BIOS for the Maximus X Hero can I change the speed from x2 to x4?

In the Onboard Devices Configuration, there should be a menu called "M.2_x PCIe Bandwidth Configuration" and you can set this to be either 2x or 4x, assuming you still have enough lanes available to give the M.2 ssd 4 lanes.

8700k has enough for a 1070 and a M.2 at x4 I do believe.

Yes it does, the 1070 will run at x8, and the M.2 at x4.
