I'm helping my friend with a budget PC and wanted to see if anything should be replaced before I send it through to him, he's looking to play some modern games like PUBG at a stable FPS, he doesn't have much money at the moment but he's desperate to upgrade from a rubbish old laptop.

What's his budget and what resolution does he want to play at.

You should probably pick components that are actually in stock. The RAM and GPU isn't in stock.

Other than that, change the platform to AM4. Get a 2400G, use the integrated graphics. Get faster RAM. Change the motherboard to a B350 motherboard with a heatsink over the SoC VRM. Use the stock cooler, and drop the thermal paste (it comes pre applied). Drop the dGPU. Change the PSU to one that isn't crap. The Pure Power 10 400W is decent, and is usually the cheapest decent unit in the UK.

Get a better psu and don't buy that thermal paste.

How about this then?

It's a bit over budget unless there is anything unnecessary in there?
