I have recently swapped motherboards and reloaded windows on my system. for the past few days i have tried numerous things to get my clock to stay synced/accurate. the problem is that shortly after the hour changes the clock resets to an hour behind or some random time. i have gone into services and under "windows time" i have set the startup time to automatic and the service is active. for my internet sync server i have it set to "time.windows.com". i have also tried "time.nist.gov" as the time sync server to no avail.i am on the east coast and i have it set to "(UTC -05:00) Eastern Time (US&Canada)". I heavily rely on my pc clock and i know it can cause system wide issues if the time is incorrect.

i desperately need your help and hope this problem will finally be able to be fixed.

thank you all for reading.

How old is the battery on the mobo?

i'm pretty sure it's still the original battery. i didn't mention it because i wasn't sure if it effected the system clock or not. so going on 6 years old this spring.

Six years is a pretty good while.  Considering everything else is set and looks correct, I would go ahead and replace the battery.  It's overdue and I would put my money on the battery, they are usually only a couple of dollars and you can pick one up at the corner drug store among places.  Yea, 6 years a pretty good while.

if the battery swap doesn't work i will take a look at this. but the idea of having to get separate software to get something this simple functioning is ridiculous to me.
